Red Dead Redemption was developed by Rockstar SanDiego and published by Rockstar games. It was created to be used on Play station 3 and the XBOX 360 and released on the 18th of May 2010.

Red Dead Redemption is set in the year 2010 with the American Old west as the background. This is based during the decline of the American old West and tells the story of John Marston, an ex criminal. It is set in two fake counties and a state called New Austin, West Elizabeth and Nuevo Paraiso.

The Government in exchange for his services forcefully takes his son and wife as their prisoners. In exchange for them, he is required to hand over his old gang mates to the government and the game tells the story and his quest of tracking down these three men as he fights to get his wife and child back.

Red Dead Redemption was received with rave reviews from critics and it has become one of the highest rated games for XBOX 360 and Playstations on the websites Game Rankings and Meta Critic. As a special treat, a Game of the Year edition that incorporates all the content that was left out in the original game is being created for an October 2011 release.
